Mac turned eight years old in March, 2006
and hasn't lost a step yet. He is a very
versatile boy with lots of go and his only
limitation is his handler. He has earned
titles in obedience, agility and conformation.
His versatility has earned him the first ever
UKC Top Ten Total Dog award presented
to a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever.
Because of this achievement he was
honored in the May, 2004 issue of
Bloodlines.

tollers had access to the PRA marker that
tells us whether a toller is affected, a
carrier or non-carrier for PRA. Since the
marker has become available, we have
discovered that Mac is PRA affected and
will most likely go blind. Fortunately, in
tollers PRA is late on set, so he probably
has a couple more years of good eyesight
left in him. Fingers crossed!
